Stewy's New Life

Mum and I have been on our own since June 1st of last year. Miss Nugget went to live with a family with little girls who want to dress her and play with her (poor thing). Ozzy comes and stays with us one week on, one week off. I will be 10 years old tomorrow 4/22/09. I have adjusted to our new home and life; but it still makes me a little sad when I think of how our big family has broken up.

Spring is upon us and Mum the fair weather walker that she is has finally started taking me out for walkies - Somethings never change.

Twice Tagged!

Blue Tagged us for a game, but we are a little confused are we playing 8 Things U Don't Know (about us-the pups) or 8 Things I often say. I think we will go for 8 Things you don't know about us!

1) Nugget: I hide in the bathroom during storms.

2) Ozzy: I love watching the crickets in our lizard tank.

3) Stewy: I peed on our Christmas Tree.

4) Ozzy: I do not like the vacuum cleaner, I keep an eye on it from a distance when Mum is cleaning.

5) Nugget: If Mum stays up too late I put myself to bed. - I sleep in her bed under the covers.

6) Stewy: I am a expert food stealer.

7) All: Mum doesn't walk us, she clips our leads together and hangs on for dear life.

8) All: We will do anything for COOKIES!

Ozzy is going to take over now, Patches, wanted to know 8 random thing about Ozzy

1) I like to help Mum type on her laptop, for some weird reason Mum doesn't appreciate my efforts.

2) I follow Mum everywhere, room to room I don't let her too far out of my sight.

3) Fetch is my most favorite game!

4) I enjoy a good cup of tea. I take it with milk.

5) I bark at doorbells on the TV.

6) I sleep above Mum's head at night .

7) Mum is actually my Nana.

8) I helped Stewy steal an unopened bag of Turkey Jerky off of the kitchen table and we ate the whole thing.

Enjoy this very handsome picture of me - Mr. Ozz man.

Playing tag is very exhausting!

Tis The Season For Stoopid Hats

Pleaaaase someone tell Mum that our Christmas (Holiday/Seasonal) cards do not need to be cute! The women has been trying to figure out how to keep a Santa hat on our heads for pictures; It's humiliating! Hopefully she will give up and go for a more respectable pose. Line us up like always with treats in hand and we will give you a cute but respectable picture.

I give up; so long as Mum feeds me I don't care.-Stewy

Only Ozzy would try and put the hat on! - The boy is one dog treat short.

You can't see it well in this picture but Ozzy got clipped so short he had bald patches. Mum said he definitely needs a winter coat.

Hooman Drama

This is my hooman sister JI -- I love her; she gives great cuddles and treats too!
Below is JI's car as you can see, another hooman was in a hurry and tried to drive through my sister's car! Her back hurts a little, but she is doing OK. Our poor car was totaled (It was actually Mum's car)

I am glad I wasn't riding in the back seat! You can't tell from the pictures, but there is no back window, it completely shattered and fell out.

Bye bye car, we had a lot of great trips to the dog park.

Unfortunatly this is just one of many dramas lately. The lucky thing is all my hoomans are safe.

Cozy Rain

It rained so hard this afternoon Mum thought that she would soon see boats floating past her window at work. I am keeping dry resting here by the fire with Ozzy's squeaky Cat, Mum let me have it since there are no bits of leg, ear or tail left for me to eat. Mum found a wonderful quote below that sums up our thinking exactly.

" The best kind of rain, of course, is a cozy rain. This is the kind the anonymous medieval poet makes me remember, the rain that falls on a day when you'd just as soon stay in bed a little longer, write letters or read a good book by the fire, take early tea with hot scones and jam and look out the streaked window with complacency." ~Susan Allen Toth, England For All Seasons

Ozzy napping by the fire; Mum thinks he looks angelic. - Whatever.

Nugget's Interview

Joe Stains Interviews Nugget

1. If you could have a PERFECT day, what would you do?
I would go on a sniffing expedition to search out really good stinky poo and dead things and then collect their aroma by rolling in them. My day would be complete with a good game of bitey face with Ozzy and real beef in my doggy chow.

2. What do you think would happen if Ozzy and Tanner got together to hang out?
If they got together at our house, they would probably get into the cat's litter box and eat the "treats". It would be noisy too; lots of fight for the cuz.

3. If you could only have one treat for the rest of your life, what would you pick?
Hmmmm... This one is tough. Beagles LOVE all foods and snacks. I think I would have to go for PEANUT BUTTER - with anything! Yummy

4. Do you have any breed envy? Any breed you wish you could be more like??
I've always admired Jack Russel Terriers. If I could jump like a JRT It would help me steal more food from the kitchen counters and table. Ozzy can jump high, but he just dosn't know how to his powers for good. 5. Do you have any good Stain stories?
Ahem.... Well I have handily destroyed the wood parquet flooring near our front door. I just don't like to go outside at night when it's cold. I did it as a favor to Mum. This flooring is ugly and she needs to update it with some nice stone tile.

Thank you Joey, Those were great questions!

These are the rules:
1. If you are interested in being interviewed, leave me a comment saying, 'interview me.'
2. I will respond by posting five questions for you. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with a post containing your answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Thank You

Thank you Jazz & Dixie for honoring us with this award. You girls are the bestest! We would like to pass the award on to Snoopy and Sparky & Patches. They are furry furry cute.
We would also like to honor our hooman knitter girl...She has cats but we won't hold that against her!

Knitter by Day gave us this award back in August. Mum never got around to posting it; This shows how lazy Mum was this past summer!

Thank you everyone!

Before The Rain

We got in a good dog park romp before the pouring rain this past weekend. The park is getting very muddy which we love!
I didn't catch this doggy's name but he kept following me around and his hoomans were not keeping an eye on him. He was nice, but made me very nervous.

Aww.... he is handsome, maybe I'll see him next time at the park.

Lost & Found

Ozzy is demonstrating his best roll on stinky stuff. He is quite skilled at picking up lovely aromas, but for some reason Mum is not impressed. Today however Mum is babying him and is not worried about how dirty he is. Why? Somehow he escaped from our back fence and made his way a couple miles down the road. I think he was heading to the dog park. Two women found him and took him to a vets office in a neighboring city. Fortunately Ozzy has a micro chip and the vet was able to call Mum. The weird thing is he was wearing two collars, his regular collar and a choke chain which was not removed after his last walk. Both of his collars were missing... Very suspicious.
I was not involved in his disappearance-honest!Of course Mum had to go to the pet store to buy a new collar, she was so happy to have Ozzy back that she bought him new toys. I offered to help break in his new squeaky cat.

It's got that funny new toy flavor.

It's not as durable as our good Cuz. I was able to chew off two feet and part of an ear. Mum may take it back , she worries it may be a choking hazard. She'll have to sneak it away, I LOVE it!

Goodbye Sweet Summer

Mum said tomorrow is the official first day of Autumn. We decided we'd better savor every drop of sun today. It was suppose to rain today but we got lucky!
Here is Ozzy looking like a scruffy boy. His girl insists that he grow his hair out so she can put girly ribbons in it. Mum told him not to worry, she will sneak him off to the groomers.
I am trying to relax but between Mum snapping pictures and Ozzy noising around it's not easy.

Miss Nugget is keeping an eye on the new dog who moved in behind us. We are now officially surrounded.
Ahhhh..... Sweet Sun shinning down on my favorite outdoor napping spot. Life is good! :-)

Can You See Me?

Well as you know, we have not been around for over a month! Mum caught a bad case of lazy summer-itis; as a result we took a hiatus. Mum discovered and recommends the following activities for the relief of stress.

1) Hunt for four leaf clovers

2) Visit out of state family

3) On long road trips listen to books on tape

4) Turn off your cell phone

5) Walk and let your mind wander

6) Meditate

7) Read; Mum loves quirky self help books and recommends the Luck Factor – The Four Essential Principals by Dr. Richard Wiseman
For fun the Hobbit – We are still reading this one. Mum has discovered that she is a Hobbit minus the hairy feet.

8) Tell your dog your worries, we can’t fix any of them but you may get some good kisses!

9) Have a cup of tea, with milk and sugar of course

10) Go gold panning in northern Montana. You most likely will not find any gold, but a chair carefully placed in the stream with a bolder foot rest makes an excellent napping spot.

11) Doodle

12) Go to a make up counter and ask for a make over.

13) Get a massage

14) Buy candles

15) Shop at a farmer’s market-buy the great in season fruit.

16) Walk your dog or dogs

17) Take a bubble bath

18) Listen

19) Notice the beauty all around – How can you miss if you live with a pup!

20) Count your blessings

Weekend Update

For Jazz & Dixie, here is a picture of Maynard. He is very shy and normally when Ozzy sits in front of his aquarium he hides in his little house. JI bought the nice big crickets the other day and Ozzy has been trying to sneak into her room and listen to them sing, he is very curious.

Mum took us to the dog park this evening. Yahoo! Stinky ponds here we come.

Good fortune; Nugget finds a ball.

It felt good to run.
Where did Stewy go?

Pawesomely Doggylicious

Mum bought us some pork twist treats to cheer us; and best of all Ozzy's hooman girl took him to the lake leaving me the house to stretch out and enjoy my treat in peace. Stewy always takes his treats outside, making sure I am nowhere in sight. (I think we may have a trust issue).

Bye, Bye Ozzy..... I won't miss you!

Notice the red eyes, I think Mum may have to take me to the Vet-Yikes!

Heaven, I'm in heaven!
Mum, quit eyeing my snack!

Shattered Sunday

We are still trying to come to grips with the passing of our friend Oscar. I am very sad and mopey.

Stewy isn't in the mood for fun today either.
Ozzy the youngest of our group volunteered to blog today. He has a show and tell, OR should I say a show and tattle-tale.
Hi everypup, it's me Ozzy.

My hooman sister J-I has something called an armadillo lizard. She keeps the spiky creature named Maynard in an aquarium and feeds him poor little crickets. I like to sit in front of the aquarium at night and listen to the cricket's sing, Mum catches me in J-I's bedroom intently looking into the tank. Last weekend J-I asked Mum to keep an eye on Maynard while she was away for a few days. I volunteered to help and I was quite serious about my duties. J-I moved the tank into our living room so it would be easy for Mum and I to keep watch over Maynard.

Ahem... I hate to tell on Mum but she is a bit of a rough-houser. Sunday evening Mum yelled out "where's your ball, where's your ball"? How can a dog resist? I brought her Nugget's Cuz and we played fetch. Mum would bounce the ball from the kitchen off the wall in the dining room into the living room, and I would bring it back. It was all good fun until -crash! Somehow the women with a non-existent throwing arm managed to bounce that ball straight into the lizard's aquarium. Poor Maynard was not hurt, but I know he must have been terrified as he tried to become one with his little log house.

We were able to buy a new tank even though it was past 11pm; thank Dogness for the 24/7 Wal-Mart. J-I has since put Maynard back in her room, and Mum has been asked to roll balls in the house from now on -The fish sitting on our kitchen table is ever-so grateful.

I hope this doesn't hurt my chances of lizard sitting in the future.

Sweet Oscar We Love You

Sweet Oscar, our hearts are so sad today. Mum is crying and I don't quite understand, you crossed the rainbow bridge too early. While we never met in person; we loved reading all about your adventures and seeing all the wonderful pictures and videos.

Farewell dear Friend, wait for us on the other side of the rainbow bridge.

Forever Love, Nugget, Stewy, Ozzy & Mum.
