Nugget's Interview

Joe Stains Interviews Nugget

1. If you could have a PERFECT day, what would you do?
I would go on a sniffing expedition to search out really good stinky poo and dead things and then collect their aroma by rolling in them. My day would be complete with a good game of bitey face with Ozzy and real beef in my doggy chow.

2. What do you think would happen if Ozzy and Tanner got together to hang out?
If they got together at our house, they would probably get into the cat's litter box and eat the "treats". It would be noisy too; lots of fight for the cuz.

3. If you could only have one treat for the rest of your life, what would you pick?
Hmmmm... This one is tough. Beagles LOVE all foods and snacks. I think I would have to go for PEANUT BUTTER - with anything! Yummy

4. Do you have any breed envy? Any breed you wish you could be more like??
I've always admired Jack Russel Terriers. If I could jump like a JRT It would help me steal more food from the kitchen counters and table. Ozzy can jump high, but he just dosn't know how to his powers for good. 5. Do you have any good Stain stories?
Ahem.... Well I have handily destroyed the wood parquet flooring near our front door. I just don't like to go outside at night when it's cold. I did it as a favor to Mum. This flooring is ugly and she needs to update it with some nice stone tile.

Thank you Joey, Those were great questions!

These are the rules:
1. If you are interested in being interviewed, leave me a comment saying, 'interview me.'
2. I will respond by posting five questions for you. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with a post containing your answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Can You See Me?

Well as you know, we have not been around for over a month! Mum caught a bad case of lazy summer-itis; as a result we took a hiatus. Mum discovered and recommends the following activities for the relief of stress.

1) Hunt for four leaf clovers

2) Visit out of state family

3) On long road trips listen to books on tape

4) Turn off your cell phone

5) Walk and let your mind wander

6) Meditate

7) Read; Mum loves quirky self help books and recommends the Luck Factor – The Four Essential Principals by Dr. Richard Wiseman
For fun the Hobbit – We are still reading this one. Mum has discovered that she is a Hobbit minus the hairy feet.

8) Tell your dog your worries, we can’t fix any of them but you may get some good kisses!

9) Have a cup of tea, with milk and sugar of course

10) Go gold panning in northern Montana. You most likely will not find any gold, but a chair carefully placed in the stream with a bolder foot rest makes an excellent napping spot.

11) Doodle

12) Go to a make up counter and ask for a make over.

13) Get a massage

14) Buy candles

15) Shop at a farmer’s market-buy the great in season fruit.

16) Walk your dog or dogs

17) Take a bubble bath

18) Listen

19) Notice the beauty all around – How can you miss if you live with a pup!

20) Count your blessings

YaHooo! No More Diet!

I stayed at the Vets kennel last week when Mum & the family went camping. (It was not all work that kept her from blogging for me.) They weighed me and discovered I lost another 2 pounds! I am now down to 30 pounds and the vet said no more weight loss for Nugget!!! Yay! Now you know why I drooled so much for that cookie in my last video; Mum gives them out very sparingly and I only get a bit of a cookie never a whole one.
Front View
Side Profile OK Mum, you heard the Vet..... Now make with the cookies already!

Tag - Eight Things You Don't Know About Me

I was tagged by Alya to play Eight Things You Don't Know About Me.

Clearly I am beautiful, but you already know that! Hmmmm..... lets see.

1) My real name is Chicken Nugget. - OMG how embarrassing! I was named by a 5 year old in my first family. Mum wanted to rename me Olive, but my new hooman siblings said I would be confused and to just keep my name Nugget.

2) I get up on Mum's lap after dinner, not to cuddle but to inspect her for any and all food particles she may have dropped on herself. I keep hoping I will get lucky and find a bit of meat, bread or some other tasty hooman morsel.

3) If my water bowl is empty I over turn it to alert Mum I need water. -Smart huh? Stewy never thought of that one!

4) I drool when Mum says the words "Are you ready for dinner time?"

5) You know that I am crazy about my Cuz, but I am really crazy for any and all balls or any toy that Ozzy seems to want. :-)

6) I am really good in the car, especially if I know that car is going to the dog park!

7) It is a 10 minute drive to the Pacific Ocean (Puget Sound) from my house but you won't see to many pictures of me at the beach. Mum hates sandy paws!

8) I love playing with ice cubes in my water dish in the hot summer. I've been reading about frosty paws and Mum said she would make me some this summer.

OK, enough about me. I am tagging Tin Tin , Pappy and Isabella

Nugget

Cuz Protection

I will demonstrate the correct way to protect the all important Cuz for my doggy friends who have trouble-making sibling thieves. Note: The position below only works to protect against doggies. My hooman sister JI came up for a cuddle... or so I thought. But no, she just couldn't leave my Cuz alone. She lulled me into a false sense of security, and the next thing I know she's got her hooman paws all over my Cuz tormenting me.
Good thing I have jaws of steal.
Note my new position, it's not as comfortable but it's effective.

5 Pounds - Gone!

Look at me! I lost 5 pounds in a year. Mum said 5 pounds is a really good weight loss for a small dog like me. Funny, no one noticed the weight loss until I had to spend 3 days at the vet's kennel while Mum and the family went out of town. I was weighed by the vet last May; I weighed 37 pounds and this May I weighed in at 32 pounds! Mum looked back in this blog for pictures and sure enough you can really see the difference. Mum says she is very proud of me. My secret? Less food and more exercise. Ozzy has been helping me get a workout lately too. Maybe I should write a book... Miss Nugget's guide to doggy weight-loss. hmmmm....

Rainy Day Entertainment

Ok, so it's been raining for two days straight! Mum refuses to take us to the dog park because she says it will be a giant mud pit. For entertainment I am teaching Ozzy my cat hunting strategy. I sit quietly on the steps that over look our front entry hall and living room. When the silly cat strolls by I quickly race down the stairs and blast her with my best beagle voice. This is just pretend hunting because our Cat is tough and scratches, I just like to scare her. hehehe
Ozzy is good at this game, he learned fast.

Hmmm..... where is that cat.

I am off to bed; Mum said she and Dad are going to take us for walkies in the morning.

Nugget Speaks Out

I am very upset! I would use stronger words, however this is a family site. Many of you may already have heard the news of tainted pet food in North America. There is a massive recall covering as many as 51 dog food brands and 40 brands of cat food, covering 60 million cans and pouches of possibly tainted food. A federal investigation is focusing on wheat gluten as the likely source, and testing continues. This is where I have a problem. In testing, the manufacturer fed its product to 40-50 dogs and cats resulting in 7 deaths. What? How would you hoomans like it if the tables were turned. Would a bread manufacture line up 50 hoomans to eat toast if there was a possible wheat gluten problem in your food? I don't think so!

For more information visit: www.menufoods.com/recall The company designated two phone numbers for pet owners to call: 866-463-6738 & 866-895-2708.
The Seattle PI article: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/308221_petfoodrecall20.html

Fortunately my food is not included in the listed brands. However just to be on the safe side I have requested that Mum feed me peanut butter only for a couple of months.

Yum! Peanut Buttery goodness. I snuck this jar from Dad, and Mum thought he gave it to me. HeHeHe... Ozzy and Stewy were outside sunning. Mum says this is why I am not loosing weight.

Spring Dreaming

The warm shinny glow in the sky came out today! Mum said spring is just around the corner. I can not wait, Mum is not much of a walker in the winter months and it gets a little stuffy in the house. The warm glow gave way to rain this evening but that's OK, I just love listening to the rain when I am tucked into a warm bed. Ahhh..... I am dreaming of spring right now: parks, trails, kids, beaches..... Here I come!

New Year's Resolution

My New Year's Resolution: Play ball everyday. I love my new ball I sleep with it, it is never to far from me. Mum says that I don't know how to play fetch. I like my version better, I run with the ball and Mum chases me shouting c'mon Nuggy drop it, drop it, Dad stands by laughing.

New Bed For Nugget

Tiffy shows nugget her new bed.

Nugget snuggles!

Now if only she would sleep here at night. She sneaks onto the bed at night, pins me in against RR, and then loudly snores!

Beagles Rule!

Apparently not only can I not leave comments on a non-beta blogger-blog, comments can not be left on this site unless you have a beta blogger account. Hopefully, this will be corrected soon!

Recently I received an email from Cat, with dog/pet rules and a notice to non-pet owners entering your home. I really liked the notice, below:

(Message to be posted on our front door):

Warning To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit:

1. Our pets live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture.
(That's why they call it "fur"niture.)
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

Remember: Dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

1. Eat less
2. Don't ask for money all the time
3 Are easier to train. (Actually, this is debatable if you own a Beagle).
4. Normally come when called
5. Never ask to drive the car
6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends
7. Don't smoke or drink
8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions
9. Don't want to wear your clothes.
10. Don't need a gazillion dollars for college, and...
11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

Beagle Rule # 2

See Beagle Rule # 1, as tennis balls are not very tasty!

The rain is finally here and Miss Nuggy spent the evening by the fire. Oh, it's a rough life.

Stubborn Beagle

There she sits, Miss Nugget waiting at the fence for any sign of the dog next door! She will not be detracted from her mission. I can't seem to convince her that we should live in peace with our next door neighbor! I'd like to train her to live and let live with the neighbor dogs. Any suggestions?
