Weekend Update

For Jazz & Dixie, here is a picture of Maynard. He is very shy and normally when Ozzy sits in front of his aquarium he hides in his little house. JI bought the nice big crickets the other day and Ozzy has been trying to sneak into her room and listen to them sing, he is very curious.

Mum took us to the dog park this evening. Yahoo! Stinky ponds here we come.

Good fortune; Nugget finds a ball.

It felt good to run.

Ode to the Dog Park

Oh Dog Park, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thy smelly treasures, that bring tears to Mum's eyes.

I love thee to the depth of the dog park pond. (Actually there are 4 ponds)

Warning: You may want to turn your sound down. Mum got a little excited when she realized Ozzy jumped in the pond.

I love thee with the passion of a dog at play.

Mum realized she didn't get me in one dog park picture. I tend to lag behind the boys and watch from a distance or stick closer to Mum. There are loads of big dogs at the park and and I am a little shy.

All Wet

This is Ozzy’s first visit to the dog park, and as you can see he is completely soaked. This was not our best dog park visit, or at least not for Mum. First off, it was rainy and cold. Ozzy ran straight for the main pond, jumped in and started to swim! Stewy and I like to wade a bit, but Ozzy was swimming around like it was a hot summer day. Once mum got him out he needed to poop and for the first time Mum forgot to bring plastic bags. A nice lady pointed out Ozzy’s poop for Mum. The park has plastic boxes for volunteers to leave clean bags for just this purpose. The boxes are labeled “Clean Plastic Bags Only”, but what did Mum find? First box, a latte cup and paper trash, no clean bags. The second box held a bag with poop, no clean bags. The third and final box was filled with water and clean bags, but some ridiculous human dropped in poop and it wasn’t in a bag. Mum carefully avoided the poop and pulled out a sopping wet plastic bag for the poop. Poop in hand and on the way to the trash Mum slipped in the nice thick mud and fell poop and all. Stewy and I thought this was great fun, but Mum started muttering to herself. I couldn’t quite make out all that she was saying but some of those words are not allowed in our house. We went home early because Mum was cold, muddy and very wet! I did hear her tell dad that she is going to volunteer at the dog park, stocking plastic bags and cleaning up. This is very good news because I know she will take us along!

YaHoo! Dog Park Day

Stewy-Moving too fast for Mum's camera. He cried in the car all the way to the park, which made me worry too! We thought we were going to the dreaded groomers. We were very excited when Mum's car pulled into the dog park parking lot.

Mum said to stay out of the ponds but Stewy never listens. The ponds were lovely and muddy.

We discovered many trees blew over in the windstorm we had last month.

There were so many good scents! We played hard and needed a nap when we got home.

Funny, Huh Mum

Oh yeah, Mum hates it when I swim in the pond. But as a responsible Beagle I feel it my duty not only to investigate all good smells but to roll, swim and immerse myself totally in them. Puts a smile on my face; besides who knows how many nice days we have left.

Pond Dipping

Nuggy and Stewy just love the ponds at the dog park. Because she sleeps with me; I tried to wash Nuggy down when we returned home. She was not having it! Sure, she can wade around a stinky pond but not take a bath!
