Secure The Perimeter

I wrote to Stormy at an Army of Four for advice. Mum does not understand the important work we do here guarding the house and perimeter. I have a clip here, below; to show the clear and present danger we are facing from the young bipeds next door. You can clearly see them trying to jump the fence. Often they hurl objects at us. Mum said the last one was just a bases ball... but please, it was very hard, not like my Cuz and it didn't even squeak so it couldn't have been a very useful ball. We are also trying to rescue the doggy on the other side of the fence, he keeps barking at us for help! (It doesn’t hurt that he is very handsome) Instead of praising us for our fine protection work, Mum gets out a squirting bottle and blasts us! Stewy is the first to abandon our work, then me, but Ozzy is very dedicated to the cause. He is a brave one, that Ozzy! Anyway I am going to have Mum read Stormy's advice; one can only pray she’ll learn. Stormy’s Mum was trained by Beagles so maybe there is hope.

Biped Alert

Secure The Perimeter

Mum, sneaking up on us!

I must protect my Cuz at all costs!

P.S. I chewed up the bases ball before Mum could throw it back. A WIN for Miss Nugget!

Nugget! You and your pack are doing EXCELLENT work! Not only did I hang on every word you barked, but I could read the message you were swiping out with your tails! OUTstanding!
But ... I saw the dreaded spray bottle! Hopefully your mom will read my post. Instead of the spray, come see what the alert is! "Oh! Little bipeds! Good Nugget! (And Stewy and Ozzy!) Good! Here's a cookie." That is the appropriate response. See if you can train her to do that instead of squirt. If she presents you with the cookie (or cheese or something equally befitting the job you've done protecting the house) IF she rewards you, reward her by not barking. For a few minutes, anyway.
Good luck, Nugget! And once again, outstanding job you are all doing!

Storm

Emmy and I get in trouble for barking, too. We have to listen to humans talking all day long, but if we say one word they tell us us to hush! So not fair! We have things we want to say, too.

Whoof & Baroo from Eddie & Peaches. We love your site. We understand the biped alert. We have to work hard to keep the 88 year old neighbor man from leaping across the fence into our yard. We just know that's what he has in mind. Tending the tomatoes, picking up the newspaper, sitting on the deck, those are all ploys to make us relax and off guard.
Looks like you're doing a great job! Keep up the good work!
