Fireworks - Yuck!

Our neighborhood has been very noisy with fireworks the last few days. This is even with a city ban/law against "illegal fireworks" - No one seems to pay attention to the law. I don't mind the noise, I remember this time of year as a kid! The only problem; Stewy is terrified of the loud bangs and pops. Each time there is a loud bang Stewy takes cover under our chair or stands right beside us, shaking terribly. I feel so bad for him, I am wondering if I should contact the Vet and see if there is a mild type of tranquilizer for him.
